Do you feel that you need a vacation from your vacation? If you are struggling with the idea of going back to the office after a nice vacation, these are few tips that will help you get on track:
Plan your departure and return: Out-of-office responders are lifesavers. They will notify people that you're not at work, so when you return, you won't feel overwhelmed by emails. There are many few things you may want to do before going for a vacation and that will make your return smoother. For example, I like to tidy up my desk before I leave. Seeing my desk all clean and tidy when I come back will definitely motivate me.
Make a list: Make a list of unfinished tasks before leaving. When you’re struggling to focus and don’t know where to even start, your to-do list will help you. Also, that’s how you strategize your first days back by doing minor tasks which will give you a sense of accomplishment, hence motivate you.
You need some transition time: Instead of rushing straight back to work, give yourself a few days off between your vacation time and your first day back at work. This allows you to take care of errands, relax at home, and get back into the right mindset. At least you will not spend your last day of vacation waiting in airports with a sunburn.
Resume your routine: It’s all about getting back in the groove, so go back to the gym, interact with your friends and colleagues, exchange ideas, talk about your vacation…etc. This is a great way to make the transition agreeable.
Clean and prioritize your inbox: It’s such a mess, but you can do it!
Take short breaks during the day: Be kind to yourself and remember that you deserved that vacation, don't let guilt force you into believing that you have to work yourself into the ground because you were away.
Keep a positive attitude
